About Me

My photo
Hi I'm Clare, I live in the South West of England in the seaside town of Torquay. I adore playing with inks, paints and generally getting messy. It is the calm place which fits in between my hectic life whilst working as an outreach support worker, looking after my son, daughter, foster son and hubby. Not forgetting our gorgeous springer spaniel, Suzi.

Clare 1 - Broken elbow 0

Howdy bloggers, I feel as though I am back in the game today. I had a very positive call from the fracture clinic today and they have told me that no further treatment for my elbow is required. They have suggested a support bandage which means it is a lot easier for me to craft.

Without further a do I set aside some time this afternoon for me to have a little play.

For this card I used:

Clear gesso

Dylusion paints

Dylusion ink

Dina Wakely-silhouetted women

Dina Wakely-plastic canvas stencil

Tim Holtz - splotches stencil

White posca pen

I painted my background with Dylusions paints and then added a splash of vibrant turquoise dylusion ink. Then using a dry brush I highlighted some areas with white paint. After that I built up other layers using the paints and stencils.

Clare DT- Value of a moment

Good morning fellow bloggers. It's a lovely sunny morning here in Torbay which is fabulous after the torrential downpour we had yesterday. Long may the sunshine remain! I am here with my weekly Bee Crafty spot and this weeks card does have a bit of a summer feel with it's beachy scene.

For this card I used:

Wordage - Value of a memory stamp

Beautanicals - Ferns

Inkables heart template

Distress inks

Just a clean and simple card this week brushing my distress inks through the inkables template. I also stamped some ferns through the template to create some depth. Once I removed the inkables heart i continued stamping with the fern and finally I stamped the sentiment.

I am finally on my holidays and hoping to be blogging a little more frequently. I have however had the inconvenience of breaking my elbow this week! Fortunately it was my left arm and as I am right handed it shouldn't hold me back too much. I am feeling a little foolish though! When you announce at A & E that you injured yourself rollerskating you get that all knowing look. Oh dear, at my age I really should know better!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today. I will hopefully see you in the week with some more crafty moments. Remember you can leave your comments below and follow by clicking on one of the links above.

Clare DT - Beautanicals Dandelion

Good morning fellow bloggers. I have awoken to a glorious morning, I hope the sun is shining where you are? Here I am again with another card made using Bee Crafty stamps.

For this card i used:

Beautanicals - Dandelions stamp

Wordadge - Joy is a flower

Liquid pearls

I started off by brayering the background colour onto the card, once I had acheived my desired background I stamped the dandelion onto the card in a smokey grey ink and continued to stamp in various places, without re-inking, so that the dandelions appeared lighter in colour.

Again with the Dandelion I stamped around in moss green in the same manner. In the foreground I stampecd with a black ink pad.

Finally I added some liquid pearls and stickles for some dimension, shimmer and sparkle.

Thank you for popping over today. Remember to hit the follow button to see what crafty notions I get up to next time. I love to hear your comments, you can leave those below.

Happy Birthday Mum xxxx

Just a quick blog from me this evening. There is a lot going on at the moment what with my daughters last week at school.

She has been performing in talent shows, summer concerts and also singing with the Welsh National Opera! That was last week, this week Sophie has two performances in her leavers play and her leavers party. I am so incredibly proud of her acheivements with straight A's and level 5 sats results across all subjects.
With my daughters hectic schedule it has left me with very little crafting time but I managed to slot in some time to make my mum's birthday card.

I took some inspiration from Eileen Godwin (you can visit her blog here) who has been creating some amazing canvases using circles. I have never been fortunate enough to attend one of Eileen's workshops but it certainly is on my to do list.

I used brushos in the background, painted my circles with paperartsy fresco paint and the Indigoblu butterfly with mica powders.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenge: http://indigoblublogchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2015/06/challenge-29-flutterby-our-new-design.html

I was so pleased with the card that I have plans to start another on a canvas. Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by. I love to hear your comments and if you have really enjoyed your visit remember to press the follow link above.

Clare DT- Family Masterpiece

Hi it's Clare here again with my Bee Crafty update. There is an amazing offer at Bee Crafty this weekend. They are offering 20% off their fabulous stamps this weekend so if you want to bag yourself a bargain why not take advantage of this superb offer.

To make this card I used:

Beautanicals - Teasels

Wordage - Family Masterpiece

Inspired by Da Vinci - Script

I brayerd the background ink onto my card. In a brown ink I stamped the script stamp onto the card and then stamped the teasels in a red ink followed by the black to give the teasels some shadow.

Thats it for today folks. Don't forget to pop over to Bee Crafty this weekend and bag yourselves a bargain or two.

Thank you for popping over today. I love to hear your comment so feel free to leave one below. If you would like to see what I get up to next click on the follow button above. X x x

Enjoy the Journey

Good evening fellow crafters. Just a little blog from me tonight after a very busy day at work. I can safely say that in two weeks time I shall be feeling overjoyed about the start of the summer holidays which of course means lots of time to spend in the craft room, oh yes and a little bit of housework.

Not that I will be venturing too far this summer but tonight I have made a travel themed tag.

I don't often use tags so just for a change I thought I would throw things into a mix and have a go at something a bit different.

For this project I used:

Dylusions paints

Clarity Hot Air Balloons

Sentiment from a Stampers Anonymous set

Grunge paste

TCW - Art is stencil

Gold embossing powder

I would like to enter this tag into the following challenge: On Your Travels http://countryviewchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/july-promises-to-be-sizzler.html

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my blog tonight. I love to hear your comments, feel free to post below. You can see what I get up to next by following my blog on the links above.

I hope you all have a good week, see you soon.

Happy crafting,

Clare DT - Delight

It is the weekend again and that can only mean one thing, my Bee Crafty cap is well and truly on and with me I am bringing a new stamp from the fantasy and fables collection.

For this card I used:

Fantasy and fables - Delight

Backdrop borders - Splater swirl

Dylusions inks

Liquid pearls

Stickles

Wink of Stella clear pen

I made the background using shaving foam and ink, swirling the colours around until I acheived my desired pattern. I like to make batches of backgrounds when I use this technique. Then some simple stamping with the gorgeous new delight stamp. I stamped the splatter swirl onto a separate piece of card to layer the image. I added some liquid pearls and stickles then used the clear wink of stella brush over some of the colourful swirls.

Thank you for popping over to see me. My apologies for a very brief blog, I am afraid I have spent more time at work this week then I have at home. The school holidays are nearing and I for one am ready for a rest. Still a couple more weeks to go then I shall be up to date with the housework and plenty of crafty time on my hands.

Happy crafting,
