About Me

My photo
Hi I'm Clare, I live in the South West of England in the seaside town of Torquay. I adore playing with inks, paints and generally getting messy. It is the calm place which fits in between my hectic life whilst working as an outreach support worker, looking after my son, daughter, foster son and hubby. Not forgetting our gorgeous springer spaniel, Suzi.

Clare DT- Banksy inspired girl watering aerial with Dylusion inks

Happy weekend folks and how are we all in blogland? Well it was back to work for me this week but during the half term I was fortunate to have a delivery of Bee Crafty's newest selection of stamps from the Banksy inspired collection.

For this project I used:

Inspired by Banksy- girl watering aerial

BEAUtanicals - maple outline stamp

Wordage - Joy is a flower

Inkables leaves template

Inkables alternative circles template

Dylusions

Distress inks

I started off by spraying Squeezed orange, tangerine dream And lemon zest onto my card. Once blotted i spritzed some water through the leaves template. When the card was dry I inked on some fired brick distress ink through the leaves template. After that I stamped on the sentiment and the fabby Banksy inspired image. Next I distress inked through the alternative circles template to make a border.

On a separate piece of card I stamped the maple leaves and painted with cherry pie, pomegranate seed and postbox red dylusions. I fussy cut the leaves and applied to the card. To finish off I added some dots using a white pen from my stash.

Thank you for visiting my blog this week. I love hearing your comments and don't forget to follow to find out what I get up to next time.

Happy crafting,

Home is where the heart is Jofy stamps and Fresco paint

Well I didn't expect to be back so soon but I thought I would partake in a crafty little midweek blog.

I just wanted to show you this little door hanger I made for a friend.  For this project I used fresco paints and jofy stamps and stencils.

I don't know about anyone else but it always seems a shame to leave the back blank so I added a bit of stencilling to the back.

Thank you for taking the time to visit.  I love to hear your comments and if you have enjoyed my blog please follow me using the follow link at the top of the page.

Fair well half term - mixed media canvas

Well it was my final day of half term today and decided to have a go at a small mixed media canvas. I used a selection of Bee Crafty's stencils and stamps which you can have a look at by clicking on the link here. For my colours I used a selection of dylusion inks which are also available at Bee Crafty.

I detailed my art work afterwards using charcoal and I highlighted some areas with my white pen. I rubbed textured area with treasured gold.

That's it for me today, probably until next weekend. Please feel free to leave a comment and don't forget to follow to see what crafty mischief I get up to next.

Did you know.........

Hello and welcome to my newest followers. I have had trouble in the past with people trying to follow and I'm not sure how but I have managed to resolve the problem. Anyway enough about the techy stuff and back to the crafting. I wanted to share with you that Bee Crafty are now stocking those wonderous little pots of colour explosions known as 'Brushos'

For this card I used:

Brushos emerald green, purple and violet

Inspired by Banksy -Hope

Wordage - Dreams come true

Just sprinkle the little pots of colour, spritz with water and watch the magic happen! After it has dried you can stamp on your chosen image. You don't need a full set of these paints, to start with you can just experiment with two or three colours.

So there you have it, the brushos have been unleashed and I am pleased to say I am starting to enjoy this new way of creating. Please feel free to leave a comment or even become a follower.

Clare DT - Swing

Hi it's Clare here and I have been a busy bee using Bee Crafty's newest selection of Inspired by Banksy stamps. I have had so much fun using these arty stamps and still have so many ideas bumbling around in the old grey matter!

For this project I have used:

Dylusions inks

Inspired by Banksy - Swing

Backdrop stamp - crackle

BEAUtanicals stamp - leaves

Wordage stamp - decision to try

Inkables template - alternative circles

Inkables template - Hearts

Liquid pearls

Distress inks

I started off by spraying the whole card with black marble dylusions and and drying off. After that I used the alternative circles and sprayed white linen on the side of the card and flipped the stencil over to use up the White ink left over along the bottom of the card. I stamped the leaves around the side and top of the card.

I dug out my water brush and lifted off the black ink, within the leaves, so that I could paint in cherry pie. A bit of random stamping with the crackle stamp onto the card and then through the heart template I blended in an area of fired brick distress inks.

I stamped on Banksy swing girl and used embossing powder. The sentiment was stamped onto coordinating card and cut out. Finally a bit of doodling with a white pen and some of my favourite liquid pearls.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog post. Please feel free to leave a comment below or even follow. I have had problems with the link to follow my blog so if you have tried before have another go, if you have any problems let me know so I can try to sort it out.

Jofy Stamps, Distress inks with acrylic

Just a little blog post from me today.  I made a friendship card for a friend at work and decided to try something a little different.

I started by blending my background inks onto my card. After I stamped my image and painted in the flowers and butterfly.  I sprinkled a little water over my inky background and then applied some  acrylic paint through a stencil.  I finally blended  some distress ink around the edge of the card so that it caught on some of the painted edges.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog post.  I love to hear your comments x x x

Brushos at Chippenham Workshop

I was very fortunate to be able to attend one of Barbara Daines's workshops at Chippenham this weekend. If you are close enough to go they usually meet the first Saturday of every month and spend a delightful day full of crafty techniques. Barbara also set me a new personal challenge to do a demonstration, 'oh heck' I thought I am not always one with the brushos!

I have spent some time playing with brushos and not always been happy with what I have achieved. However I have had more success recently using brushos to watercolour so I set about having a play with these delightful little powdery colours to see what I could create.

Inkables template from Bee Crafty

The hardest thing for me about brushos is not being in control of what is happening so I thought about how I could shape what is happening. I had heard about salt being used as a resist so I wandered what would happen if I tried it through a stencil.

Being careful not to put too much through the stencil I managed to leave behind a pattern and sprinkle the brushos in the void areas that had no salt. Once I had spritzed with water and dried with the heat gun I scraped away the salty patterns which left and effective background.

With the vibrant colours that brushos leave behind and a selection of stencils the possibilities are endless.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog. I love to hear your thoughts and comments.

Clare DT - Banksy boy

Hi folks I'm back with my Bee Crafty spot and have you heard about the latest release from the hive? Banksy fans will be pleased to know that there are some new stamps being introduced into the Inspired by Banksy range. So in true Banksy style I have worked with Banksy boy until I can get my hands on these fabby new stamps.

For this card I have used

Inspired by Banksy - Banksy boy

Backdrop Bubble wrap negative

Backdrop bubble wrap positive

Backdrop Zebra

Wordage being happy

This card is quite a clean and simple one. I made a tag mask out of scrap paper and stamped the three different backdrop stamps through the mask using different shades of ink. I stamped the sentiment in a corresponding ink and cut out the statement 'everything is perfect'. I added some twine and buttons and Matt and layered onto craft card.

It's half term this week so I am hoping to be blogging a little more this week. Thank you in advance for any comments you leave after your visit.

Have fun crafting folks.

Big hugs,

Love is in the air, Bee Crafty Fleur & Freddie

Happy Sunday my lovelies. I'm back with the adorable Bee Crafty couple, Fleur and Freddie and a little technique I recently found whilst flicking through one of my crafty mags.

For these cards I used:

I started off by stamping my image and painting the heart with distress inks. As the background is going to be quite vibrant I decided to leave my loving couple plain and covered them in glossy accents.

Once the glossy accents were dry I inked my template with distress inks and lightly spritzed them with water so the inks would blend. I then applied my template to the card with a sheet of paper over the top and brayer end so the ink would transfer onto the card.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog. I love to hear your comments.

Happy crafting,
