About Me

My photo
Hi I'm Clare, I live in the South West of England in the seaside town of Torquay. I adore playing with inks, paints and generally getting messy. It is the calm place which fits in between my hectic life whilst working as an outreach support worker, looking after my son, daughter, foster son and hubby. Not forgetting our gorgeous springer spaniel, Suzi.

Clare DT - Banksy inspired ' Swing'

Hi folks its me again with my weekly Bee Crafty blog. Just a quick little blog from me this week and the inspiration came from a fellow crafter Eileen Godwin. She produced a fabulous you tube video which gives you a very detailed how to. So here is my take on this fabulous technique.

For this card I used:

Banksy inspired - Swing

Wordage - Never regret

Brushos

Perfect pearls mists

Cling film (yes cling film)

I started off by spraying a piece of cling film and sprinkling with my Brushos. I put my glossy card onto the cling film and wrapped it up, turned it over and squished the cling film around. I left it for about ten minutes.

After the ten minutes were up I unwrapped the card and then added another brusho colour to the top and spritzed with water.

Once dried I was able to stamp my image and add finely cut black strips of card to form my sections. I stamped the sentiment onto a separate piece of card which I then chopped up, applied some distress ink and glued onto the card.

Clare DT- Greatness words

Good morning all. It's a wonderful sunny morning in Torquay today which has woken me up this morning after an exciting day at the NEC yesterday. I had a wonderful day and of course I was finally able to visit Bee Crafty's Bev Tonks, after nearly 12 months of being on the design team.

If you are fortunate enough to go to the NEC today go and see Bee Crafty. There are the fabulous new Alisa Kay designs stamps and a few other goodies which have not as yet been launched onto the website

Well in true blue peter style here's one I made earlier!

For this card I used:

Inspired by Banksy - Greatness words

Inspired by davinci - Da Vinci script

Backdrop stamps - Bark positive

Embossing powder

Brushos

Rock salt

To make this card I stamped the greatness words onto a a piece of card and heat embossed with embossing powder.

Before I sprinkled my brushos onto the card I arranged some rock salt around the sentiment. Salt is a great team mate of brusho, it acts as a resist on the card. This created my white splashy areas.

So I sprinkled the brushos an spritzed with water. After that i spritzed my script stamp with water and stamped in random areas. Finally with a grey ink pad I stamped the bark stamp a few times on the page.

Clare DT - Leafy Butterflies

Hi there it's time for a Bee Crafty moment and this week I chosen to show you a crafty make with a feminine touch just for Mother's Day.

For this card I used:

BEAUTanicals - Maple outline

Wordage - Family masterpiece

Inkables template - basket weave

Inkables template - Alternative circles

Distress inks

Liquid pearls

Black & white pen from stash

To make this card I blended my chosen distress inks over a masked piece of card to leave a white area at the bottom.

On some spare card I blended the same inks and then stamped the maple outline stamp over the top. I fussy cut these and put to one side.

Through the basket weave template I inked some black soot and through the circles I blended some spiced marmalade.

I used the small maple outline stamp to make my baby butterflies and added some doodles through the middle for the body.

After that I stamped on the sentiment in black ink. I then applied my butterfly wings and once again added some doodling for the large butterfly's body.

To finish off I added some more doodles to the stencil and some liquid pearls.

Clare DT- Greatness Girl and Dylusion inks

Hi I'm back again with my little spot of craftiness for Bee Crafty. Today I have used another of the new Banksy inspired stamps, Greatness Girl.

For this card I have used:

Banksy inspired - Greatness Girl

Backdrop - Bubblewrap Negative

Inkables template - Metalwork alpha

Inkables template - Multi hearts

Dylusions ink sprays

Black soot distress ink pad

I started off by spraying my dylusions onto white card. Through the metalwork alpha template I sprayed water then flipped it over to use the water on the other side of the template.

Once dried I stamped on the Greatness girl and then randomly stamped the backdrop bubble wrap.

Through the multi hearts Inkables template I blended some black soot distress ink and added some doodles using a white pen from my stash.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog post today. I'd love to welcome some more followers and feel free to leave your comments below, they are always much appreciated.

Another 40th blog

I've been longing to craft all week but unfortunately my back has been excruciating and instead of crafting I've been looking at everyone's fabulous work. On facebook I've seen some fabulous work using Brushos and Swirls. Brushos are now available at Bee Crafty.

Hermine Koster does some fabulous work with Brushos and the card featured in the link inspired me to have a go. So tonight dosed up with meds I braved it into the craft room.

I used a slightly different technique to Hermine. I used salt on the card to mask off and created the swirl pattern actually in the salt before adding the brushos.

I then used stencils to add some further interest to the background. I stamped my main image and then some inkylicious rain drops and water drops and finally added some glossy accents.
