About Me

My photo
Hi I'm Clare, I live in the South West of England in the seaside town of Torquay. I adore playing with inks, paints and generally getting messy. It is the calm place which fits in between my hectic life whilst working as an outreach support worker, looking after my son, daughter, foster son and hubby. Not forgetting our gorgeous springer spaniel, Suzi.

Clare DT - Greatness Girl and distressed stars

It's the weekend, which allows most of us to kick back and allow ourselves some crafty time. Being off school this week I have been fortunate enough to have lots of creative time.

I'm here today with my Bee Crafty blog for this week. This weeks blog has a bit of an American theme.

For this card I used:

Banksy inspired Greatness Girl

Backdrop borders Distressed stars

Dylusions ink London blue

Dylusions Paint Post box red

Embossing powder

To make this card I brushed some post box red paint to make the stripes. Once dried I sprayed the top of the card with London blue ink and let it run down the middle of the card.

After it had dried completely i was able to stamp the image and the border then heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. Got lots of ideas rumbling around in the old grey matter but I'm back to work on Monday so i guess i'd better jot them down for a later date or I may just sneek a final few crafty hours before monday.

Gelli plate and Dylusion paints & Dina Wakely stamps

Hello everyone, I've had the gelli plate out this week and thought i would share with you a couple of cards that I made using Dylusion paints. It was great, messy fun and I know it won't be long until it has an outing again.

The paint colours used are Bubblegum pink, Lemon zest and Vibrant turquoise. I tore some circles out of scrap paper and went about layering the paint and arraning the circles each time i printed.

I made sure that I had plenty of card handy to catch the ghost prints. I managed to get quite a few backgrounds some of which I will blog soon.

The above card was a ghost print. I forgot to remove one of the circles (doh) in the top left corner, but saying that I quite liked it and decided to use it for a card.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by. I love to here your comments, you can leave you feedback below.

Happy crafting,

No cards, no stamps, just paint and some inspiration.

Happy bank holiday everyone! Well it turned out beautiful again today. I have taken full advantage of the beautiful weather today and my line was full of washing, flapping gently in the breeze. Finding myself home alone I shamefully abandoned the glorious weather and succumbed to the little voice in my head whispering " Craft Room".

I absolutely adore the artist Yvonne Coomber. Her paintings are stunning and have inspired me to create my own little version.

I haven't painted on a canvas this time, Hubby often hands me off cuts of MDF that I like to paint and sometimes stamp and stencil on. First I put on a coat of gesso and then watered down some acylics to make a wash.

Now the messy part! Lots and lots of splattering, my hands are now various shades of green, purple and red now! Better not pick in the white washing at this stage.

The next stage took a very long time. Dabbing on my chosen colours with cotton buds. I can tell you now that I can still see spots before my eyes.

I know this isn't exactly a card, stamps or inks so thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. You can follow by clicking the above link or comment below.

Clare DT - Angel Whispers

Happy weekend everyone, I'm here today with my Bee Crafty DT and with me I am bringing along this beautiful new addition to the Wordage collection Angel whispers. It is available in two different sizes. In my card today I have used the large stamp.

To make this card i have used:

I started off by setting up my inkables template with my card underneath. Using a piece of ripped paper with various shades of blue distress inks I blended off the edge of the paper to make the cloudy tunnel.
Over the top and around the edges I blended seedless preserves. After that I stamped the distressed flower border and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
I continued to stamp the angel sentiment with a smokey grey ink, I made sure that this was dry before I bump stamped the sentiment again with watermark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Clare DT - Ghetto Blaster and Dylusions paints

Good morning all, its looking like it's going to be another glorious day today. I should be able to empty my wash basket and then get some playtime in the craft room.

This week it's all about Banksy again with Ghetto Blaster boy meets Dylusions paint & Ink.

For this card I used:

Inspired by Banksy Ghetto blaster

Wordage Life & rain

Dylusion Paints

Dylusion inks

Inkables template Metal work alpha

Inkables template chain link fencing

Distress ink

To make this card i blended Dylusion paints Postbox red, Lemon zest and Cut grass for the background on the card with a bending tool. Once dry i sprayed the cut grass ink along the green edge of the card and tipped it to create the cactus.

I stamped on my Banksy Boy and with the metal work alpha Inkable template i sprayed Postbox red ink, I flipped the template so that some of the ink on the negative side got used.

Once dried I stamped the Life sentiment and with Black soot Distress ink and a blending tool I worked through the Chain link fence template.

I love the way that the paints and inks work so well together. The paints blend flawlessly.

A little play with mixed media and Dylusions.

A little midweek blog from me not something i usually do but i have made a couple of mixed media cavases that I wanted to share with you.

I was inspired to have a go at making my own after watching a fabulous you tube video by Marta Lapowska http://youtu.be/JbF4DjqDEmo which you can watch by clicking on the link.

The butterfly stamp is one from a set Rynn Designs which I purchased on a visit to the NEC (see i am working my way through my unused stash). In both projects i used Dylusion inks which are available from Bee Crafty along with the alternative circles stencil to use with the texture paste.

I would like to enter into the following challenge http://designsbyryn.blogspot.ca/2015/05/may-customer-creation-challenge.html

On the first project i used Dylusions pomegranate seed, for the above project i used crushed grape. I finished off both canvases with Treasure Gold guilding wax.
I have had lots of enjoyment making these and it has certainly opened my mind to more mixed media ideas.

Thank you for taking the time to have a look at my blog. Remember to hit the follow button above, comments are always greatfully received below.

Clare DT- Tree shillouette, Brushos and three cards!

The weekend is upon us yet again and i for one am overjoyed. Even though it has been a four day working week it seemed much longer. Well i am here with my Bee Crafty slot and this week I have brought to you three cards using one stamp, the fabulous Beautanicals tree shillouette stamp. Along with the stamp, for each card I used Brushos and embossing powder. The cards are all different in many ways but i have kept the technique similar. I will post the links for additional products used with the photos.

For this make I stamped the tree with watermark ink and heat embossed with clear powder. After that I sprinkled the brushos over the tree and spritzed with water to explode the colour. Once dried I randomly stamped Crackle paint stamp and used the Inkables easy frame heart mask and mini blending tool along with tea dye distress ink to ink my heart frame. To finish i applied liquid pearls around the heart.

In the above card once the Brushos were dry I went over the tree coloured areas with a Wink of stella brush.

Clare DT - Love Hill

Happy bank holiday sunday everyone. It's that time of the week again for my Bee Crafty spot. Well i was very excited this week when some of the Dylusion paints landed at my door. How could i resist trying out these beautiful jars of coloured fluid?

For this card i used:

Dylusion paints

Inkables - Easy frame - Heart

Inkables - off set dots

Inspired by Banksy - Love hill

Wordage - Live with no excuses

Mini ink blending tool

To make this card I painted onto card using a dry brush with fresh lime, vibrant turquoise and lemon zest.

After this had dried, through the inkables easy template I used my mini blending tool with the same three colours and stamped the circles through the heart. I also painted around the heart carefully with black and then blended with my finger.

I need my heart template again now to stamp the Banksy inspired image in the middle. The heart mask is also very versatile. It helps to protect my stamped image. When i go back in with the black paint and off set dots inkables template.

Finally with some white paint i added some paint using the bottom of a spray bottle in various positions.

Thank you for having a look at my blog post today. If you have enjoyed reading then don't forget to follow using the above link. I look forward to reading your comments you can do that down below.

I hope you all have a craftastic bank holiday.
