About Me

My photo
Hi I'm Clare, I live in the South West of England in the seaside town of Torquay. I adore playing with inks, paints and generally getting messy. It is the calm place which fits in between my hectic life whilst working as an outreach support worker, looking after my son, daughter, foster son and hubby. Not forgetting our gorgeous springer spaniel, Suzi.

Meet our Vera

Well it's that time of the week again, and it's my weekly blog for Bee Crafty.  They have just launched their fantastic new range of Fashionettes and I would like to introduce you to Vera.

For this tag I have used:

Vera
Davinchi script
Inkables wire fence
Sentiment
Dylusion postbox red and white spray
Distress inks

I sprayed my tag with dylusions post box red then I laid the wire fence Inkables mask over the top, spritzed with water and blotted.  Then I laid the mask over at a different angle and sprayed with the white ink and left to dry.  On a separate piece of card I stamped Vera and coloured in with my promarkers. I cut her out and then went over her hair with a Sakura glaze pen.  I went back to my tag and added the script stamp at different angles and went around the edges with distress inks.  I put vera on the tag using pva glue and then gave an extra outline to create a shadow.

I stamped the sentiment stamp and then snipped it down so that I had 'perfect 10'.  Finally I decorated with a flower, liquid pearls and ribbon.

Don't forget to pop over to Bee Crafty to check out the full range.

Have a happy crafty bank holiday weekend.

Mixed media mayhem!

Well good evening folks.  Unusual for me to blog during the week but I thought I would blog what I have been playing with this week.  I thought I would try my hand at something new and work on a canvas.  I haven't had to invest in anything new I have just used what was in my stash.  I have had loads of fun playing and trying out lots of new techniques.

I don't think that I'll be the next Picasso but I have found this very therapeutic and really enjoyed piecing this together.

It's half term next week which means more time for crafting and blogging and possibly a little bit of housework :-)

Thank you for taking the time to have a look, don't forget to add yourself as a follower as I love to visit new blogs myself.

Crafty hugs,

Get your sunglasses out!

Isn't it lovely to be able to say that and mean it?  Finally the weather has changed and so has my wardrobe.  I did the mammoth task of changing my wardrobe over to my summer clothes, not a job I enjoy but I'm happy to have all my colourful clothes hanging in my wardrobe.

Well the title doesn't just relate to the current climate, it is a tad on the psychedelic side.

For this card I used:

All of these are available at Bee Crafty

To start with I spritzed some of my mica ink for the background.  After it had dried I stamped on TV hugs and memories.  I then used peacock feathers distress ink to dust over the circles stencil then barn door to dust around the outside and create the ground for TV girl to sit.  To add a bit more texture i stamped in red ink using the bubbles stamp.  I love the way the mica pops up in random places.

I'm off to open up my journal and finish a page that I started the other night so I guess I will need sunglasses for myself by the time I've finished.

That's it for today folks.  I hope you have a fab weekend wether you are crafting or in the sunshine.

Crafty hugs,

Back to Banksy

Good morning all.  I'm back again for my Sunday Bee Crafty blogspot.  I've got a couple of things to blog this week one of them being a quick little plaque that I made.  Firstly I've gone back to something that lead me to Bee Crafty.  Banksy inspired stamps!

For this card I have used:

I love this  Banksy inspired stamp, it is so versatile and it is great for male cards.  I brushed on a background of blue and green using the wire fence mask.  Leaving the mask in place I stamped the image through the mask.  I then used the bubble wrap stamp using various distress inks to frame him. Last of all I stamped the wordage stamp and embossed.

A while ago I bought some air dry clay and made several shaped tiles but not made anything with them.  This week I decided I would have a go and this is what happened.

For this project I used:
Guilding flakes

I just inked up my clay tile with distress inks.  I then stamped  with tacky glue the bark back drop stamp and rubbed in my guilding flakes.  I stamped the wordge stamp onto a die cut shape, used black embossing powders and then heat embossed.  I die cut and assembled a flower and foliage.  Finally I added some wire to hang.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my blog post, if you have don't forget to add yourself as a follower.
I'm off now to get up to some more crafty mischief.

Happy crafting,

Big hugs,

Girly whirly!

Happy weekend to you all! I am infact euphoric as I have turned a corner with the lurgie and am now starting to feel semi human, even though my voice still keeps disappearing at times.  I have managed to slot in a bit of crafting this week during the evenings and thought I might use my new linking skills and enter into a challenge.

I have used Lavinia stamps zen butterfly to make my girly card.  I stamped in versa mark and used some glittery white embossing powders.

For my background I sponged and brushed on a mixture of distress inks.

I am entering this card into the following challenge  Lavinia stamps challenge #5 birthday girl

I then added liquid pearls for some fine details.

I have also just completed the second entry into my journal.  I really am enjoying the freedom of letting loose and trying out lots of different weird and wonderful ideas.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my blog.  I shall be back at some point again this weekend I am planning to make up for not crafting over the bank holiday so will probably be spending  Sunday evening trying to scrub the ink off my fingers.

Have a craftastic weekend,

Loads of hugs,

Blooming Beautiful

This will be a short and sweet blog today as I am feeling a little under the weather.  I have got laryngitus (hurrah says my hubby) lol I have lost my voice and no,before anyone asks it has not been put away in one of my craft draws :-) My fingers have been well and truly inked up after this week which is just as well with beecrafty.net offering their distress inks at £3.99 bargain!

For this card I have used:

I made the background for this card using my gelli plate and adirondack inks, unfortunately I can't remember the colours as this week has been a bit of a blur.  I stamped a mask of flower girl Abi, cut out and put her on the gelli plate, i then inked up the plate with my inks.  I stamped the cow parsley and branches stamp directly onto the gelli plate and then lifted of the print.  To add a bit more depth I stamped on some more cow parsley.  I also used the cow parsley stamp to make a background for  the topper to sit on. Finally I stamped Abi and coloured her with my promarkers.

The flower is made from a Tim Holtz flower die and I added some leaves as a finishing touch.

Well I hope you have enjoyed looking at my blog don't forget to follow if you have enjoyed.  Have a happy crafting bank holiday.

Crafty hugs,
