About Me

My photo
Hi I'm Clare, I live in the South West of England in the seaside town of Torquay. I adore playing with inks, paints and generally getting messy. It is the calm place which fits in between my hectic life whilst working as an outreach support worker, looking after my son, daughter, foster son and hubby. Not forgetting our gorgeous springer spaniel, Suzi.

For a Special Little Lady!

Good evening everyone, I've been card making on a school night! It's for a very special reason too. My very dear cousin and his lovely wife had a beautiful baby girl on Monday.

I am so excited because I am going to visit at the weekend and have a cuddle. i will also spend some time with my crafty auntie barb :-).

Of course I couldn't go empty handed so I have made a card to mark this special occasion.

I probably won't be blogging at the weekend so I hope you all have a lovely time, I know I will. Bring on the weekend, have fun. X x x x

Sparkling Sunset

Hello all! I have made a birthday card for a male colleague of mine. I don't know about everyone else but I always find it quite tricky to decide what to do for men so as he has just returned from Abu Dhabi I thought I would try and recreate a sunset scene.

I used Tim Holtz distress inks and the stamps are from Lavinia except for the sentiment which is a Tim Holtz. I embellished with labels and small wooden buttons and used liquid pearls around the outside.

I hope that I have managed to make it masculine enough. Would love to hear what you think.

Well it's back to work for me tomorrow :-( but as the saying goes all good things must come to an end. In one respect I think I am pleased to be going back, being off work with the children means there are more opportunities for them to spend my money! It also gives me ample opportunities to shop for craft stash :-) . The down side being I have less time to spend crafting. This week will be a killer, the first week always is so I can sit in the evenings and have a look at everyone's amazing creations.

Mission accomplished!

First of all I would like to say a BIG thank you to all of the lovely comments I have received this evening and a warm welcome to my new members.

Well I have been crafting with my daughter Sophie (9) this evening and despite all of the "mum where's the......" And "mum can I borrow the......." And numerous other requests, I have managed to complete a card. Thankfully she is tucked up in bed and i was able to finish in peace. She really enjoys crafting and talking too!

The inks were out again tonight but opted for girly pink, glitter and butterflies. I hope you all enjoy. It's been a long evening and my bed is calling me, especially as I will be up in the morning clearing away the mass craft explosion on my dining room table :-(

Night night. X x x

Ink, stamps and black finger tips!!!

Well I have been stamping again today and using my distress inks to create a background. My hands look like I have been down a coal mine and not a lot else has been achieved, that's what holidays are for eh? I must say I am impressed at myself for blogging once again this week, I didn't think I would manage it twice in a row let alone three times. I am not sure if I will be able to keep up the momentum as it's back to school next week :-(. Here are a couple of pictures of my project for today. I used papermill hammered card for the background card and Tim Holtz distress inks for the scenery.

The flowers were die cut made out of pearlised paper and card candy. I left the ribbon with the flowers hanging as it is quite nice when a card has a little bit of movement.

Glossy card........yay or neigh?

I have been experimenting with glossy card today. Not sure if it is because I am using ink brushes as opposed to a brayer, maybe that's where I'm going wrong? Once finished I am quite pleased with the result but maybe I will stick to what I know next time and use good old white card!

Inspiration

I haven't made this card with anyone in mind. Usually I make cards with people in mind but this one was to make sure I have used some of my new stash (before some more arrives) shhh, don't tell Gary lol!

Wedding Card.

As some of you can tell I am very new to this blogging malarkey! I vowed that I was going to put my crafty moments up on here from now on which I fully intend to do but I am going to put one of my past makes up. It is a card which I made for the teacher that I work with.  She recently got married and I wanted to make a special card for her special day.

Twinchie blogging!!!!!!!!!!

Well here it is, I have made my first ever twinchie! I think the hardest part is going to be linking it. I've got as far as blogging and setting up new Facebook page so in for a penny in for a pound.

Well over year ago I set up this blog so I suppose I ought to make a start. From now on I will post my crafty moments onto here. A bit late in the year for resolutions I hear you say, we'll let's see if I can manage more then two blogs in fourteen months lol. X x x
