About Me

My photo
Hi I'm Clare, I live in the South West of England in the seaside town of Torquay. I adore playing with inks, paints and generally getting messy. It is the calm place which fits in between my hectic life whilst working as an outreach support worker, looking after my son, daughter, foster son and hubby. Not forgetting our gorgeous springer spaniel, Suzi.

Paperartsy, Ink & Dog Vintage and Distress Oxides

Happy Monday to you all,  I'm over on the Paperartsy Blog tonight with a little experimentation!

I started off with using the Distress Oxides onto Paperartsy smoothy cardstock, perfect for taking the Oxides along with the extra water to smoosh it around!

Again, using the Oxides, I added in some stamping & stencilling using the stamps from Paperartsy Vintage Ink & The Dog set #ID04.

Through the mini masks I sponged on some Paperartsy Metallic Glaze, you obviously can't see here but wait and see what happens next!

Once the glaze has dried add another layer of  Distress oxides, this time in Walnut Stain, wipe back with a baby wipe and.......

The colours you left under the glaze come gleaming through the matt effect Distress Oxides.

I love the sheen that the glaze creates and the fact that the colours that I started with are allowed to peep through!

I can't wait to get my hands on the new set of oxides and start experimenting with the new colours!Thank you for popping over, comments are always gratefully received.

Happy Crafting,

Clare x x x

Mid month inspiration

Hi folks,  I'm back with some mid-month inspiration for the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge.  Our sponsors this month is Indigoblu.  Pop over to the blog to check out the rules and submit your entry to be in with a chance of winning our monthly prize.

On a tag, dipped and then stencilled with Distress Oxides, I stamped a feint image of the 'Country House' stamp onto my tag.  I also stamped some of the blooms from Victorian Garden using Vintage
Photo Distress Oxides.

With black Versafine ink pad,  I stamped an additional layer of blooms , the sentiment and the bumble bee.

Thank you for stopping by today, remember to pop over to the blog to check out the rest of the team's wonderful inspiration and enter your project.

Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #39

Hi guys I'm blogging today for Mixed Media Monthly Challenge.  This months challenge is sponsored by Indigoblu and our Guest Designer this month is Jenny Marples.

This month we have some photo inspiration for you as well as the beautiful creations that the rest of the team come up with!  Remember to head over to the blog to check out their makes, read the challenge rules so you can pop in your entries to be in with a chance of this months prize!

I chose to work on a cardboard frame.  I layered up with paint before adding a layer of brick texture paste.

I stamped and heat embossed Country House onto some white tissue paper and adhered it to my project.  I also stamped the foliage & sentiment from Victorian Garden in the same manner and applied it with some matt medium.

I stamped the doorway onto some card, coloured in and fussy cut to add another layer to my project.

That's it from me today, remember to head over to the blog to find out how to enter your fabulous creations.

Crafty Hugs,
