About Me

My photo
Hi I'm Clare, I live in the South West of England in the seaside town of Torquay. I adore playing with inks, paints and generally getting messy. It is the calm place which fits in between my hectic life whilst working as an outreach support worker, looking after my son, daughter, foster son and hubby. Not forgetting our gorgeous springer spaniel, Suzi.

Clare DT - You are a star!

Good morning bloggers and happy weekend to you all. I'm here today with a little bit of Bee Crafty.

Now slapped wrists for me because it is Halloween and I am extremely guilty of not making anything from the fabulous All Hallows collection. I have unfortunately had half term lurgy and spent most of my week wrapped in a duvet with pills and potions galore, honey and lemon and boxes of tissues not far from my side. However I am going to share with you a recent card I made from the Inspired by Banksy collection

For this card I used:

Greatness girl stamp

Inkables star template

Brushos

Embossing powder

White wax crayon

Bleach

To start I stamped the main image and heat embossed. With the star template I traced around the star with a white wax crayon.

Then the fun part! Sprinkle those fabulous little pots of brusho colours over the project, spritz with water and watch the colour explosion.

Once dried, with an old paint brush, I painted bleach inside some of the empty spaces inside the image to lift away the colour.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today.

Happy crafting,

Naughty Kitty!

Hello my lovelies, I hope you are all well and good? I have had the week off for half term and unfortunately along with that came the half term lurgy. I havent blogged as much as I intended to this week but as I have felt a bit brighter today I allowed myself some time in the craft room to have a little play in my journal.

My bad kitty was inspired by Tracey Scott, you can visit her blog by clicking on her name. In last months Craft Stamper Tracey wrote a fabulous article about how she creates her whimsical animal characters. So with this on my mind it was time to have a go myself.

I created this page in my small Dylusions journal with Dylusion paints (cushed grape/vibrant turquoise/bubblegum pink/white/black) on the background. I painted the pages with black first, dried and then built up the colours on the page.

I stamped using Dylusions heart stamps (from Around the Edge set). I also used a Dina Wakely heart stencil in the background.

I drew Kitty Cat into my journal, painted with white paint and continued to add colour with my Neocolour II crayons and pencil crayons.

Well I'm not sure that Kitty ended up as cute as Tracey's creations. I think that Kitty has been up to no good as her expession carries an element of mischeif!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by. I'd love to hear your thoughts and comments you can do this below. If you would like to keep up to date with my blog you can follow by clicking on one of the above links.

Have a lovely weekend everyone

Bleaching out!

Good afternoon peeps. Well the weather outside is certainly crafting weather! I'm also feeling a little under the weather myself with sinusitus but I'm not going to let that stop me from getting into my craft room.

I was inbetween projects waiting for things to dry and I remembered an up and coming birthday this week.

So downed tools, a quick clear up and into card mode. I used Jofy stamps for the main image and Brushos for the background. I bleached out the colour inside of the flower, butterfly and grass. I added some green brushos back in on the grass but decided to leave the flower and the butterfly as they were. Finally I used some liquid pearls for a finishing touch.

Thank you for stopping by today. Lets hope that the half term weather improves, if it doesnt I guess the blessing will be a whole load of crafty time.

Crafty hugs,

Yueltide

Good morning bloggers. It's been a busy old week at Bee Crafty, what with TV appearences and then the release of some fabulous new Yueltide stamps. That is precisely what I am going to share with you today.

What I used for this card:

Yueltide doodle bauble round

Yueltide seasons greeting

Brushos

White embossing powder

Because when we make christmas cards we usually end up making tons! I thought i would keep the design of this simple. I stamped the christmas bauble in watermark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The sentiment was stamped with black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.

I sprinkled a mixture of green shades of Brushos, spritzed with water and just waited for my card to dry before layering onto some card to finish.

Thanks for taking the time to visit to. We love to hear your comments you can do this below. Feel free to follow the blog and keep up to date with what has been made.

Happy crafting,

Hiding in Autumn

Good morning to you all. Is autumn hiding? With the glorious sunshine we have been having lately the only reminders of the season is the cool, dark evenings and the scattering of crisp golden leaves falling from the trees. So with that in mind I took some inspiration from the array of seasonal colours to help me with today's A Sprinkle of Imagination blog post.

First of all I painted an MDF heart with Dina Wakely media paints. I used tangerine, ruby, lemon and umber.

Once the paint had dried I stamped with the Finnabair dot grunge stamp and added some stenciling with white paint through the Tim Holtz burlap layering stencil

I masked with some die cut leaves and dry brushed over with some white and white with a spot of umber.

Using the Dina Wakely fine tip applicator I outlined the leaves and background with umber paint.

I had to leave this a while to dry so I stamped Crafty Individuals Crowned Bunnies onto some white card and added a hint of colour with some Inktense pencils. I also stamped the sentiment Love Wish Dream from the Tim Holtz stamp set 'Stuff to Say' onto some white card, cut out and set aside to assemble later.

Waste not want not, I painted the leaves that I used as masks in the same manner as the heart. I spread melted bees wax over my project and adhered the bunnies and sentiments. The leaves were arranged around the bunnies, standing proud for some dimension. Finally I added some doodling with paint pens to my autumn foliage.

That's all from me today. Happy crafting one and all!

Clare DT- Angel Whispers Canvas

Good morning bloggers, it's my turn to post a Bee Crafty blog today. I'd like to show you a canvas that I've made using Bee Crafty's fabby stamps.

For this canvas I used:

Wordage Angel Whispers stamp

Fables & fantasy Delight stamp

Backdrop stamp Fur Elise music stamp

Backdrop crackle paint stamp

Inspired by da vinci script stamp

Inkables heart template

Inkables off set dots

Dylusions paints

Dylusion white linen ink spray

White paint pen

I started of by stamping the backdrop stamps onto my canvas. Next I applied some texture paste through the off set dots stencil.

I left this to dry before adding some Dylusion paints.

Once the paint had dried I added some Dylusion white ink spray to the top of the canvas and let it drip down the canvas.

Through the heart template and in the area where the sentiment was to be stamped I applied some white Dylusions paint.

Once all the paint had completely dried I stamped the Delight image and the angel sentiment. Finally I doodled some white dots around the heart using my white pen.

Thank you for stopping by today. If you have enjoyed your visit remember you can follow my blogging journey. I love to hear your comments too! You can leave one below.

Clare DT- Wacki wares - Norris

Hi folks I'm bringing you my Bee Crafty blog a little earlier than usual. I'm off for weekend away with the girls at work.

I'd like to introduce you to Norris. He is from the Alisa Kay collection available from Bee crafty.

For this card I used

Alisa Kay Wacki wares- Norris stamp

Wordage have a wonderful day stamp

Dylusion paint

Inkables circle template

Distress markers

Glossy accents

To make this card I made the background on a gelli plate along with Dylusion paints and the inkables circle template. Once it was dry enough I stamped on the sentiment.

I stamped Norris onto some watercolour card and added some colour with distress pens, moving the colour around using a water brush.

Norris was cut out and adhered with some silicone glue. Finally I added some glossy accents to his glasses and lights.

Have a super weekend wherever you may be.

Happy crafting,

By your side

Good morning bloggers. I am here today with my Sprinkle of Imagination hat on! I recently decided that I wanted to explore the possibilities of alcohol inks. Only having primary colours I decided to invest in a few new colours. The trouble being I was so excited to order my lovely new inky colours I completely forgot to purchase some blenders! Now I didn't let a little thing like that stop me.

Products used to make this card:

Alcohol inks : Purple twilight, Pool, Mermaid, Clover, blending solution

Black and white paint pens

Crafty Individuals Favourite Ducks

Derwent inktense pencils

As I didn't have any blenders this was a bit of an experimental piece. So onto my glossy card I randomly squirted some blending solution adding the blue and green inks moving the card around to create drips and blends.

Once this had dried I dripped on some of the Purple Twilight and then a drip of blending solution. I didn't move the card this time. I left the ink to find it's own place and settle.

When this had dried I decided to turn my purple splodges into blooms by adding an outline doodle and black and white stems. Continuing the theme of black and white I doodled a co-ordinating border.

Onto a separate piece of card I stamped our featherd friends and added a hint of colour using my Dewent inktense pencils. I cut out the birds and adhered them to the blooming background. Finally I stamped the sentiment directly onto the card.

Thank you for taking the time for stopping by today. If you have enjoyed your visit today remember you can follow by clicking on one of the links above. I really look forward to reading your comments.

Clare DT - Seasons Greetings

Good morning bloggers. Now I wondered if it was a little early to write up this post but I know that lots of you are starting on your christmas makes so I thought I would share with you some of Bee Crafty's christmas selection.

For this card I used:

Crealies tag dies

Dylusion ink

Seasons greeting stamp

Yuletide holly swirl

Embossing powder - white

Embossing powder - gold

Embossing powder - black

Embossing powder - holographic

To make this card I inked a large sheet of card with polished jade and vibrant turquoise dylusions ink. I. Stamped the holly swirl three times in watermark ink and heat embossed with the three different embossing powders.

Using a square die I cut out nine areas of the holly swirls. With the spare card I cut out a tag using the Crealies Die, stamped on the sentiment and heat embossed with the holographic embossing powder. I also stamped with watermark ink the holly swirl and brushed over some mica powder from my stash.

I layered my small green tiles and arranged them on the card finally placing the tag on top.

Thank you for taking the time to visit today. Have fun this weekend what ever you maybe upto. If you have enjoyed your visit remember to leave a comment below.

Happy crafting,
